Overdue Pregnancy Treatments
Available From 40 Weeks (From Your Due Date)
This treatment is designed for low-risk pregnancies from 40 weeks onwards, for those who would like supportive birth preparation before induction is offered at 41 weeks.
It provides you with a calm, nurturing option to help your body prepare naturally for labour.
From a birth preparation perspective, this treatment aims to:
Reduce stress hormones (cortisol)
Increase oxytocin (the hormone that supports labour and contractions)
Encourage relaxation and a calm hormonal environment
Help prepare and soften the cervix
Support baby’s downward movement into the pelvis
May gently encourage the onset of contractions
Complementary therapies have shown that supporting relaxation may reduce the need for induction in some pregnancies by encouraging the body’s natural readiness for labour.

We’ll discuss what works best for your individual pregnancy, for this treatments usually 40 weeks.
Yes. All techniques are carefully adapted for late pregnancy, and a full consultation is completed before your first treatment.
- That is completely normal. These treatments create a calm, supportive space to promote relaxation and encourage your oxytocin hormones - the contraction promoting hormone. I’m also here to answer questions about induction, early labour signs, self-care and more, to help you make informed decisions and understand induction.
- Absolutely! I teach you both some massage and acupressure techniques to use together between sessions, supporting labour readiness and bonding. Also, gives birth partners away to support you during labour.
- Ideally 3 sessions is recommended for best results, however, we can discuss this depending on individual circumstances. But I would recommend a few days apart.
- Any remaining treatments can be used postnatally to support recovery and relaxation. (up to 12 weeks postnatally).
- These treatments are often chosen by women who wish to encourage spontaneous labour before induction is offered for being over due. While results cannot be guaranteed, the combination of relaxation, oxytocin release, acupressure, reflexology, massage, and essential oils can support your body’s natural readiness for birth, including gentle encouragement of contractions, cervical ripening, and encouraging your baby to move downward into the pelvis.
